Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's influence on this world is undeniable. Thankfully, his influence continues to reverberate into the first decades of the 21st century.
What made Dr. King so influential? Was it his position as a pastor? Was it his educational background? Was it because he was in the right place at the right time with the right message? Probably not. There were others who were saying similar things as Dr. King. Those certainly did help, however, what made him influential to so many people was his courage, confidence, his commitment to the cause of equality, his passion, his ability to empower others to fight for racial equality, and his trustworthiness as a leader.
Dr. King's influence is about his personhood, not his position.
It's the same with you. While you may not be in the category of leaders like Dr. King, but if you are a leader, you are influential. Leaders in any walk of life desire one thing - influence. Without it, you are a manager of a process or an organizer of people. Leaders move people. Leaders transform organizations. Leaders impact people's lives in a positive way leaving them better than when they first met the leader.
Leaders influence people by who they are and not necessarily by what they say or do.
